Alhamdulillah, our teams successfully rescued, sorted, and distributed over 1,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to vulnerable seniors and families facing severe food insecurity in the Surrey area.

This critical outreach was dedicated to the 26th of Dhul Hijjah, marking the Shahadat (Witnessing) of Sayyidina Umar al-Faruq (ع), the 2nd Rightly Guided Caliph (23 H / 644 CE). Following the beautiful example of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to care for those in need, the volunteers at Fatima Zahra Helping Hand (FZHH) were out on the streets of Downtown Vancouver providing essential nourishment to our vulnerable neighbors.

This week, our mobile relief team distributed boxes filled with freshly prepared, healthy sandwiches, pastries, and assorted refreshing drinks to bring comfort, dignity, and a smile to those experiencing homelessness.

Food insecurity impacts so many in our city, and every single meal serves as a reminder that they are seen, loved, and valued members of our community.
